About Skyrain

At Skyrain Therapy, we help children from birth to five years build strong beginnings through compassionate and evidence based early intervention. Guided by the experience of our founder, Stella Amoako, a United States trained educator with more than ten years of work supporting children and families, we create nurturing paths that help every child grow, communicate, explore and thrive.

We understand how quickly young minds develop and how powerful early guidance can be. That is why we work closely with parents, create joyful learning experiences and support each child with patience, skill and deep respect.

Meet our lead therapist!

Stella Amoako is the founder and lead therapist at Skyrain Therapy. She brings more than twenty years of experience working with young children and families, along with professional training in Elementary Education and Reading from the United States. Stella has worked in public schools, childcare centres, academic support programmes and community-based learning environments, where she has supported children with a wide range of developmental needs.

Her work focuses on early communication, social and play development, behaviour support and emotional regulation, all through gentle and engaging play based approaches. Over the years, Stella has guided countless families, helping parents understand their child's needs and learn simple strategies that support progress at home.

Stella created Skyrain Therapy to offer compassionate, culturally grounded early intervention to families in Ghana. She believes every child deserves a strong, supportive start and every parent deserves clear guidance and understanding. Her mission is to create a warm, welcoming space where children can grow confidently and families feel empowered every step of the way.

As someone who has worked with children for many years, I want you to know this is a very common concern. Sometimes a child is simply busy and deeply focused. Other times, it can be related to attention, hearing or early communication skills. When I meet your child, I look at the whole picture, not just one behavior. A simple screening helps me understand how your child is taking in information and how we can support them.

Yes, many children repeat things as a way of learning language. I see this often. But if your child repeats phrases instead of using their own words to communicate, we can gently guide them toward stronger communication skills. I use play, songs and simple routines to help children move from repeating to expressing themselves.

Children have different personalities. Some naturally take longer to join others. But if your child rarely makes eye contact, does not respond to social cues or avoids interacting even with familiar people, it may mean they need some support. In my work, I use warm, low pressure play to help children feel safe, interested and ready to connect with others at their own pace.

This usually tells me that your child feels overwhelmed or unsure. Change can be hard for young children, especially when they struggle to communicate their needs. I help children build emotional and self regulation skills through simple strategies that you can also use at home. With support, children learn how to handle transitions more calmly.

I always tell parents: trust your instincts. If something feels delayed, it is okay to ask questions. Some children talk later and do just fine, but others need a little help to get started. Early support is gentle, play based and very effective. When we assess your child, we look at how they communicate in many ways, not just through words. Together, we will make a plan that helps your child find their voice.
